The concept behind STLDS was to decapitate THE ORVILLE as the premiere STAR TREK-esq “parody,” if you will, by attempting to copy everything that makes THE ORVILLE one of the best.

The news and official information that has come from both CBS and so-called “inside sources” are extremely conflicting.

The experience I wanted was that of someone who wanted to see this episode without looking for the tropes of identity politics or bad storytelling.
